L3Harris and Sentinel Boats have partnered to showcase autonomous systems capabilities on Sydney Harbour during Indo Pacific 2023, November 7-9.

L3Harris’ autonomous systems have been fitted to the Sentinel 1100 sea boat to demonstrate the range of missions that this type of technology could support, while reducing risk to personnel and enhancing operational reach and endurance.

“The Sentinel 1100 is one of our high-performance variants, suitable for a diverse range of defence and first response applications, including missions that require an air-drop capability. Leading design and specialist construction combine to offer unrivalled durability, performance and safety,” said George McGuire, Sentinel Boats CEO.

“We are pioneers in the use of HDPE as a next-generation boat-building material, which offers unique advantages in defence, first response and rescue sectors. The material is virtually indestructible, requires no maintenance and is optimised for demanding applications including air-drops and hard beaching.

“By joining forces with L3Harris we are greatly expanding the range of possible applications for these vessels.”

Sentinel Boats and L3Harris have signed a strategic partnership agreement, signalling a commitment to explore mutual opportunities in the Indo-Pacific region.

Autonomous demonstrations will be conducted at regular intervals from Darling Harbour for the duration of the Indo Pacific 2023 International Maritime Exposition in Sydney, November 7-9.
