The Western Australian (WA) Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with General Dynamics Mission Supplies, part of General Dynamics.

“This MOU with General Dynamics is a major milestone for the WA defence industry as we continue to strengthen the pivotal role our State plays in the AUKUS partnership," WA Defence Industries Minister, Paul Papalia, stated.

It is hoped the MOU will aid WA businesses that are already manufacturing vital parts of Australian submarines, into the Virginia-class supply chain.

“Having our local businesses interact and learn alongside General Dynamics Mission Systems Inc will give them an opportunity to be at the forefront of the Virginia-class supply chain," Papalia said.

The Federal Government has invested substantial amounts of money to create the Henderson Defence Precinct, improve facilities at HMAS Stirling, establish nuclear-powered submarine sustainment, and deliver continuous shipbuilding.
