MicroCare Corp. has introduced to the Australian market the Sticklers line of fibre optic cleaners at the MilCIS Conference in Canberra.
The company says that since 70 to 80 per cent of all fibre network failures are due to dirt on a connector, the introduction of Sticklers products means technicians will be able to produce perfectly clean connectors quickly and consistently.
The Sticklers products are designed to clean any fibre connector of any configuration or size, in harsh combat environments.
“The industry’s number one problem with fibre has been contamination on connectors and splices,” MicroCare president Christopher A. Jones said.
“With today’s new gigahertz networks, the number one rule is that techs must clean and inspect every connector, every time.”
There are four products in the Sticklers line, all designed for field installers.
The Sticklers Fiber Splice and Connector Cleaner is a non-flammable, non-hazardous cleaning fluid; Sticklers CleanStixx are tools for cleaning inside fibre optic ports; and Sticklers CleanWipes are available in two packages, one for indoor applications, and the other engineered for harsh environments.
Sticklers products are available in Australia from AFC in Croydon, Victoria.
