The BMT Design & Technology Submarine Design and Engineering Course will run again in 2013
Date: 13-17 May, 2013
Cost: $5300 per person inc. GST, meals and course materials provided
Venue: Hotel Grand Chancellor, 65 Hindley Street, Adelaide
BMT Design & Technology present an all-encompassing technical acquaint course based primarily on conventional submarine technology whilst targeting the underlying principles of Naval Architecture, Marine, Electrical and Weapon Systems Engineering.
Over 140 attendees have benefited from the course, which draws together international and Australian experience in the fields of Submarine Naval Architecture, and Mechanical, Electrical and Systems Engineering.
The course delves into the engineering and design requirements for modern conventional class (diesel-electric) submarines, focusing on the complexities of selecting and integrating associated systems and equipment.
Course topics include: • Weapons and sensors • Dynamics and control • Propulsion • Energy generation • Systems and structures
The course also features the BMT Design and Technology developed Concept Submarine Exploration Model, which allows participants to analyse the effects of altering key design parameters on cost and performance as well as produce a 3D visualisation of their design.
