Codan Radio Communications, has secured a US$3.2 million order from the US Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service to supply MT-4E repeater systems to all nine forest regions throughout the US.

The USFS (United States Forest Service) uses Codan’s MT-4E rugged repeater systems in some of the harshest terrain and remotest locations within the country to ensure the maintenance of day-to-day operations and the safety of USFS personnel and co-operators.

These systems also provide critical communications during emergency situations including wildfires and law enforcement.
Codan’s director of LMR Sales Ben Pearce emphasises the importance of working with the USFS.

“Our MT-4E repeater platform was developed specifically to operate in the harshest conditions to provide reliable communications for all situations, including emergencies and mission critical applications," Pearce said.

According to Codan, the MT-4E technology suits the needs of the US Forest Service with its extremely robust and reliable operation, modular design and backwards compatibility with the existing USFS radio network.
