On Saturday 31 October 2015 in the pleasant surrounds of the Brookwater Golf Club, Defence in Business (DiB) staged a series of presentations regarding business and employment opportunities in and around Ipswich.  The event's major sponsor was Springfield Land Corporation.

DiB connects individuals and businesses with defence expertise and interests through networking and education.  MC was Anthony Houston, with Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale the Keynote Speaker.

Pisasale foreshadowed defence related opportunities, clarifying that Council ensures community members benefit from thoughtful planning. Ipswich was recently included in the Top7 Intelligent Communities of the Year list, the first Australian city to do so.

Lindsay Pears, Queensland Government Defence Industry Envoy, spoke of the delayed White Paper and other structural and policy changes affecting proposed Defence Projects. Pears noted the high number of defence recruits from Queensland and the expanding role of Amberley Base.

Robert Kremer (Kinetic Employment) and Craig Tyson (Asset Training & Titanium Consultancy) gave overviews of recruitment trends and tips for ex-service jobseekers, including information on Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) processes.

Co-sponsor Daimian Patterson (Veterans for Youth) outlined the organisation's purpose and operations, requesting sponsorship and donations. Mayor Pisasale donated immediately.

A speaker's panel (with Laurie Mundt representing Council) took questions from the floor, followed by a final attendee networking session.
