The Unimaster system is capable of extracting dust and other particles produced during woodwork processes at a rate of 750 litres per second.
To achieve greater levels of OH&S for students and staff, the 5.5kW fan system has an acoustic diffuser to achieve quiet operation.
Extracting all but the very large wood chunks left over during cutting machinery processes, the Unimaster ensures students work in the cleanest air conditions possible and do not suffer visual distractions from flying dust and woodchips.
For the TAFE project, Donaldson linked each woodworking machine to the Unimaster using around 60 metres of 150mm ducting, so that once the system is turned on, extraction occurs at each machine, eliminating the need for students to operate the extraction system.
The installation of the dust extraction system allows education bodies to meet safety requirements set by the Department of Education to ensure the well being of students at all times.
