Leading IT and AV rental company, Hire Intelligence, has added an exciting new product to its range – The Yuma rugged PC by Trimble.

The specifications for the Yuma read like a traditional consumer friendly tablet PC. A 7” touch screen, 1Gb RAM, resistive touch screen, WiFi, Bluetooth and USB ports.

However, the Yuma is designed and intended for the rough and tumble of the real world.

Rubber bumpers on a metal chassis, hot swappable Li-Ion batteries, built in GPS, Shock and water resistant as well as a solid state drive ensures the Yuma is as tough as possible.

Although not specifically designed for the military market, the Yuma is designed to work in rugged challenging environments.

Other “tough” tablet computers on the market are rated IP54 meaning they are designed to be able to handle the occasional bump or drop – The Yuma carries an IP67 rating as well as military standard specifications for drop, shock, vibration and temperature extremes, as well as water immersion, dust and sand, humidity and low pressure and altitude.

Features include a 7” sunlight readable screen, 2-5m Accuracy GPS, Dual Geotagging Cameras, Dual Hot Swap batteries and Drop, Shock, Water Dust proof.
