RPC hosted a tour for the Honorable Gordon Rich-Phillips. Mr. Rich-Phillips is the Victorian Government Assistant Treasurer, Minister for Technology and Minister for the Aviation Industry. The Minister was invited to visit Corio following on from RPC’s exhibition at the Avalon Air-show in March this year.

Mr Brydon Johnson (Program Manager – Defence Land Systems) gave a short overview of RPC’s business structure and the types of work currently being performed at the Corio facility.

RPC’s purpose built flagship facility was built in 2010, and provides significant additional capacity to the RPC Group. Established specifically to cater to the needs of their clients in the Defence, Infrastructure, Environment, Resources, Energy and Transport sectors, the facility boasts a large, temperature controlled factory fully equipped with a wide range of equipment, including overhead cranage, full extraction systems, a specialist infusion room, paint booth, and post curing oven.

The Minister took interest in the opportunity that RPC currently has to support Cobham with the potential repair of Radomes for the coastal watch aircraft, as well as RPC’s intent to secure a production contract for the Hawkei vehicle for Land 121.

A tour of the factory was led by Mr Trevor Hopewell, Corio Plant Manager. Mr Hopewell highlighted the recent work being carried out by RPC on the large degassing tanks for the APLNG project, the cab front assemblies for the Victorian Rail & Tram System and their venture into architectural products - ‘the big beach ball’.

As a memento of his visit, Mr Hopewell also provided the minister with a commemorative plaque on behalf of RPC.
