An independent aerospace services provider, Fokker Services has been appointed by Embraer as an Authorized Service Center for the C-390 Millennium multi-mission military transport aircraft.
Under the agreement, Fokker Services will deliver maintenance and support services for the aircraft acquired by the Royal Netherlands Air Force.
"We are proud to be appointed as an Authorized Service Center for the C-390 Millennium. This authorisation recognises the experience and capabilities of our teams and expands the support we can provide to military operators. We look forward to supporting the entry into service and long-term availability of the C-390 Millennium fleet in the Netherlands" CEO of Fokker Services, Roland van Dijk, said.
As part of this authorisation, Fokker Services will play a key role in the induction of the Netherlands' C-390 Millennium fleet into operational service, providing on-site technical and operational assistance, including Field Service Representatives (FSRs).
This comprehensive support package is designed to ensure a smooth entry into service of this next generation aircraft while maximising availability and mission readiness.
"We are pleased to announce this partnership with Fokker Services and further strengthen our ties with the Royal Netherlands Air Force. This milestone reflects the confidence that customers and partners across the C-390 Millennium program place in Embraer. We look forward to creating long-term value through strategic collaboration in the Netherlands for years to come," Chief Commercial Officer of Embraer Defense & Security, Frederico Lemos, said.
The C-390 Millennium, built and designed in the 21st century, is the most modern military transport aircraft in its class. It can carry a payload of 26 tons and flying at 470 knots. It can perform a wide range of missions, including cargo and troop transport, equipment and personnel airdrops, medical evacuation, search and rescue (SAR), firefighting, and humanitarian missions, operating from temporary or unpaved runways.
The aircraft, when configured with quick-installation air-to-air refuelling equipment (AAR), can operate both as a tanker and as a receiver.
