The US Department of State has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale (FMS) to the Government of Israel to buy Munitions and Munitions Support. The estimated total cost of the potential FMS is US $151.8 million (approx. A $217.8 million).

Israel has requested to buy 12,000 BLU-110A/B general purpose, 1,000-pound bomb bodies. The following non-major defence equipment items will also be included: US Government and contractor engineering, logistics, and technical support services; and other related elements of logistics and program support.

The US Secretary of State has determined and provided detailed justification that an emergency exists that requires the immediate sale to Israel of the above defence articles and defence services is in the national security interests of the United States, thereby waiving the Congressional review requirements under Section 36(b) of the Arms Export Control Act, as amended.

The principal contractor will be Repkon USA, located in Garland, Texas. Part of the BLU-110 A/B requirement will be transferred from stock.
