The US Department of State has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale (FMS) to the Government of the United Arab Emirates for purchase of Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System-II Guidance Sections and related equipment. The estimated total cost is US $1.041 billion (approx. A $1.493 billion).
The United Arab Emirates has requested to buy up to 10,000 Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System-II guidance sections consisting of a combination of air-to-air and air-to-ground configurations.
The following non-major defence equipment items will also be included: Mk-152 high explosive warheads; Mk66 rocket motors; proximity fuzes; WTU-1/B practice warheads; inert MK66 rocket motors; other support equipment; publications and technical documentation; transportation; US Government and contractor engineering, technical, training, and logistics support services; and other related elements of logistics and program support.
The principal contractor will be BAE Systems, located in Nashua, New Hampshire.
Implementation of this proposed sale will not require the assignment of any additional US Government or contractor representatives to the United Arab Emirates but will require temporary visits by US Government and contractor representatives to participate in program and technical reviews, local training, and maintenance support.
