The $35 million expansion of the Monegeetta Proving Ground Complex has been officially opened by the Minister for Defence Materiel Jason Clare.
The expansion follows the relocation of the Land Engineering Agency (LEA) Test Services from Maribyrnong to the Monegeetta Proving Ground.
The LEA comprises Land Combat Systems which provides a test and evaluation capability for small arms and ammunition and fire support systems.
LEA also includes Accredited Test Services providing test and evaluation capability for electronic, mechanical, and environmental evaluation of large-scale land materiel.
It also supports LCS activities with test measurement.
Monegeetta is of course better known for its vehicle proving and test capabilities.
