Navy has issued an invitation to defence industry to join the next Maritime Environment Working Group (MEWG) workshop to unpack the question of “What do we need to build a sovereign Navy guided weapons capability?”
In addition to informing industry of the intent and objectives of the Navy Guided Weapons project (known as Sea 1300), the workshop will also touch on the contribution the project might make to the broader Defence-enterprise wide approach to domestic manufacture and sustainment of guided weapons.
During the workshop, Navy and industry will be able to discuss various aspects of Project Sea 1300 and explore opportunities for building future Australian Industry Capability over the coming decades.
Due to the sensitive nature of some aspects of guided weapons development, all attendees must pre-register and hold a current security clearance of Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) at a minimum in order to attend this classified event.
Companies with interest in participating in the strategic workshop should submit an expression of interest by next Wednesday 5 May 2021 with information regarding your company’s expertise, strategies and interest related to the development of guided weapons capability.
