With an ever increasing demand for simulation in the defence force, Brisbane based company Immersaview, has shown off its latest suite of technology with its range of fully immersive 180 degree simulators.

Although not yet a customer of defence, Immersaview directors, Andy Boud and Alex Streit, believe that it is only a matter of time before their product is noticed.

“We have an office in the US and we are supplying our products to the US Department of Defence and several other defence forces around the world,” said Boud. “I am sure that when Defence sees that they have a local product to be able to choose from with the capabilities and cost that we can provide it will not be long before we are showing up on their radar.”

With the defence budget slashed recently, the role of simulation becomes more important to the ADF and Streit is adamant that the Immersaview Simulator would offer Defence the value for money.

“Sending out a ship on a training run costs a lot of money and takes up a lot of time,” Streit said. “With our technology, members of the defence force will be able to train for a lot longer and have the ability to review what they have just completed to the second with our recording function, all with an unequalled 180° peripheral views.”

Both Boud and Streit believe that these functions are what separates this product from others. Users have the ability to record the entire training session that they are completing and once they are finished, an instant review can be available. This allows trainers to pinpoint areas in which people need improvement but it also allows for the trainer and trainee to identify where things went wrong. Quite possibly the best feature of Immersaview is its exceptional ease of use.

“It is pretty much all plug and play,” Boud said. “It does not require technicians to install the software and hardware, so it can all be done by the user, no technician is needed. It’s just that easy.”

Immersaview is also an Off-the-Shelf product that has been used in a number of other sectors including mining and resources, medical, transportation and automotive design.
