News Review: Nova Defence to examine Woomera's future | ADM May 2010

Nova Defence has been selected to develop the Woomera Operational Concept Document under Joint Project 3024 - Woomera Range Remediation for the ADF's Capability Development Group.

Nova's staff have over 15 years' experience in managing a wide range of activities including super sonic rocket trials, EW programs and long range weapons testing.

The Woomera Range upgrade is essential to the success of a number of Defence T&E programs in the near future.

Replacement of current tracking and telemetry systems will enable Defence to support all types of aerospace T&E and research beyond 2015, according to the DCP, including the extension of manned and unmanned aircraft performance envelopes, weapons assessment (including the ability to release stand-off/beyond visual range live weapons), T&E and research for intelligence and electronic warfare systems, and research and evaluation of the effects of weapon systems.

The implementation should be completed during the 2013-15 time frame following an open tender process for supply and installation of new equipment.
