BAE Systems Australia has welcomed its largest ever intake of apprentices in South Australia.
“This is a world-class example of industry, the education sector and government working together for the benefit of Australia,” said BAE Systems Australia’s Chief People Officer, Angela Wiggins.
The intake includes 47 apprentices who will work on the Hunter Class Frigate Program. Another five will join the company's Advanced Manufacturing facilities at Edinburgh Parks, where components for the Nulka active decoy, Evolved SeaSparrow Missile and other programs are built for export.
“We will continue to ramp up recruitment for the program with 400 new trades roles to be offered in 2025, and an additional 600 new roles to be offered across our Maritime operations at Osborne.”
The South Australian apprentices are part of a larger cohort of more than 260 graduates, apprentices and interns joining the company across the company's business.
