From limited procurement pathways to delayed funding cycles and increased competition from offshore primes, our sovereign industrial base is under pressure. These are the companies that train our people, build our ships, maintain our capabilities, and employ our veterans. If we lose them or if they lose their highly skilled workforces due to economic uncertainty, it will come at a significant cost to Australia’s ability to fight and win.
That’s why Maxi Chats was created: to provide a platform for these sovereign businesses to share their stories, showcase their capabilities, and strengthen their connection with decision-makers, warfighters, and the Australian public.
The Maxi Chats team is embarking on a cross-country journey in a 4WD, travelling the east coast of Australia to sit down and have real, authentic conversations with the individuals and companies who are driving capability, resilience, and sovereignty across Australia’s defence industry.
These conversations, filmed and published on YouTube and other digital platforms, will provide candid but important insights into Australia’s defence industry. They will cover the current environment, the challenges and opportunities facing businesses, and perspectives on what lies ahead. Delivered in true Aussie style, Maxi Chats will amplify the voices that are often unheard, helping ensure Australia’s sovereign defence industry remains visible, viable, and valued.
