AIM Defence has opened a new 4000 square metre facility to support the manufacture and export of AIM’s Fractl Counter Uncrewed Aerial Systems (C-UAS) laser.

It will host a skilled team of researchers, scientists, and engineers from a range of disciplines and will support the ramp up in production of Fractl units domestically.

“Fractl’s success on the global stage has shown the world that Australia is at the forefront of Tactical Directed Energy. This has spurred significant demand from both our own ADF as well as some of our key allies around the world. The investment in this facility is all about meeting this demand and anchoring our core manufacturing and research here in Australia” said the CO-CEO of AIM, Jessica Glenn.

The first Fractl Field Deployable Prototype was delivered to the Australian Defence Force earlier this year and trialed during a two week test and evaluation exercise at the Puckapunyal Military Area. The system also took out first place in Canada's C-UAS Sandbox event, winning AIM Defence a C$1 million dollar prize and generating significant international interest in the system.
