Advanced Design Technology, Penten, and Inovor Technologies have been selected as the Australian winners of the AUKUS Electronic Warfare (EW) Innovation Challenge.

The trilateral-developed challenge asked companies to leverage the electromagnetic spectrum to improve Defence targeting across six stages of the targeting cycle; finding, fixing, tracking, targeting, engaging and assessing.

The three governments, through their respective Defence innovation agencies, approached industry about the challenge in March 2024.

Alongside the three Australian winners are four from the UK; Amiosec, the University of Liverpool, Roke Manor Research, and Autonomous Devices, as well as Distributed Spectrum from the US.

The Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA) is managing the challenge in Australia. ASCA was originally scheduled to award Australian winners $240,000 contracts in July so that they could attend co-design workshops and develop Project Execution Plans. It isn't clear if those contracts have been awarded.
