Aurora Labs has entered into a Teaming Agreement with MBDA. Established through the consolidation of missile businesses from European defence companies, MBDA is jointly owned by Airbus (37.5 per cent), BAE Systems (37.5 per cent) and Leonardo (25 per cent).

“This Agreement with MBDA represents a significant strategic milestone for Aurora Labs. To progress our relationship with one of the world’s most respected and capable defence organisations with a near term focus on expanding into Europe, as well as pursuing opportunities in Australia – it demonstrates both the technical capability and strategic relevance of our 3D-printed propulsion technologies," Aurora Labs Managing Director, Rebekah Letheby, said.

Founded on principles of international collaboration, MBDA plays a role in enhancing the strategic autonomy and security of partner nations and their allies.

"Following our initial MOU, this expanded Agreement reflects a shared commitment to further assess and advance the integration of Aurora’s additive manufacturing solutions into next-generation defence applications which are in high demand the world over. We see substantial opportunity in combining our advanced propulsion expertise with MBDA’s global leadership in complex weapons systems," Letheby stated.

The group employs people across France, Germany, Italy and the UK, with reported 2025 revenues of €4.9 billion (approx. A $7.96 billion), a record order intake of €13.2 billion (approx. A $21.5 billion) and an order backlog of €44 billion (approx. A $71.5 billion).

"Importantly, this partnership supports Aurora’s broader strategy to expand our footprint in international defence markets and position our technology within high-value, mission-critical programs. We look forward to working closely with MBDA as we progress the next phase of collaboration," Letheby indicated.

MBDA partners with over 90 armed forces worldwide and is, the group claims, the only European group capable of designing and producing missiles and missile systems across all three-armed services.

The Agreement represents the next steps, building on an initial non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between MBDA and A3D to assess the suitability of A3D’s 3D-printed propulsion technologies for integration into future MBDA solutions, which was an ASX announcement on 15 December 2025.

Under the terms of the new Agreement, A3D and MBDA will pursue opportunities focused on the European and Australian defence markets. The enhanced arrangement strengthens A3D’s ties to a market leader and will provide the company with more regular engagement with the group to pursue initiatives in Western Europe, followed by Australia.

Under the terms of the Teaming Agreement, A3D and MBDA will work together to explore the design, development, manufacture, and integration of A3D’s 3D-printed propulsion technologies for use within MBDA’s next-generation weapon platforms.

The Agreement establishes a governance framework and the parties will meet regularly to discuss technical and commercial workstreams. The parties will explore potential funding mechanisms to support development effort including jointly funded activities and other commercial arrangements, without any binding financial commitment at this stage.

The Agreement has a term of three years from the date of execution.
