Bell Textron has delivered six Bell 412EP helicopters upgraded with its BasiX-Pro Glass Cockpit Retrofit Kit to the Indonesian Army Aviation.
“Our successful collaboration with Bell’s aftermarket teams allowed us to complete this important project for the Indonesian Army Aviation on an accelerated timeline,” President Director of Black Diamond Heliaero (BDH) Karina Kasih said.
The upgrade was done by BDH, a Bell Authorised Maintenance Center in Indonesia. It gives the Indonesian Army Aviation a better flight deck, high-resolution displays as well as engine data and flight operation recording for their Bell 412EP helicopters. The upgrade reduces pilot workload and improves situational awareness.
“This avionics upgrade gives the Indonesian Army Aviation a modernized digital cockpit that enhances mission capabilities for their Bell 412EPs as they support critical national needs," Vice President of Global Customer Solutions at Bell, Chris Schaefer stated.
The Bell BasiX-Pro Glass Cockpit Retrofit Kit replaces analog instruments with a fully integrated glass cockpit system, utilising current Bell production displays from Astronautics and Garmin avionics. This retrofit aligns with the systems found in the current SUBARU Bell 412EPX and Bell 429 aircraft.
