Carolyn Bull has been appointed as the new director of RAND Australia.
“Carolyn’s experience and leadership will be critical as we engage with policymakers in both Australia and the US to address security threats in the Indo-Pacific,” stated RAND President and CEO, Jason Matheny.
RAND Australia is a subsidiary of US-based RAND and is focused on Australian policy issues. Their primary areas of research include national security, defense, emerging technologies and social and economic policy.
Bull most recently served as the deputy head of the National Security College at the Australian National University (ANU), and prior to that she has held several senior analytic roles in the Office of National Intelligence.
“I look forward to working with Carolyn to expand RAND’s reach on these topics across both continents," said Matheny.
Bull holds a doctorate in politics from the University of New South Wales and undergraduate degrees from ANU in Asian studies and economics.
