Cirrus Real Time Processing Systems has been awarded a contract to provide the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) with additional Tactical Electronic Warfare training systems (TACEW).

The company's TACEW solution was developed in collaboration with RAN instructors from the Maritime Intelligence and Information Warfare School and Submarine Training Systems Centre. It provides the ability to simulate the entire electromagnetic battle-space within a synthetic training environment.

"The TACEW System has been used successfully since 2019 for providing training of the RAN’s EW personnel from its major fleet units and more recently the RAN’s submarines. I am very pleased to announce that Cirrus will extend the existing TACEW installation at the Collins Submarine Multi-Mission Tactical Trainer (SMMTT) facility at the Submarine Training Systems Centre," said Cirrus’ Managing Director, Peter Freed.

"This involves extending the existing SMMTT installation from a single EW console to a dual EW console; providing additional dual EW console TACEW installations into the SMMTT systems not previously addressed; supplying further enhancements to the EW functionality; and ongoing engineering support services."
