Electro Optic Systems (EOS) has appointed a new Executive Vice President of Defence Systems (Australia), Lee Kormany. The change came into effect 11 August 2025.
“I’m excited to be joining EOS Defence Systems Australia at such an important time for the company and the defence sector. EOS has a proud legacy of delivering advanced, sovereign capabilities, and I look forward to working with our talented team to build on this success, accelerate innovation and deliver world-class solutions that strengthen Australia and our allies’ defence capabilities now and into the future," Kormany stated.
Kormany will bring more than three decades of leadership and engineering expertise to her new position at EOS, having served for 21 years in the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), followed by senior leadership roles at Nova Systems across Australia and Europe. Her career has focused on delivering large-scale defence programs, leading multi-disciplinary teams, and supporting clients in key markets including the Nordic region, UK, New Zealand and Australia.
Kormany succeeds Ian Cook, who served in the position for two years. During that time, Cook transformed the Australian Defence Systems business and strengthened its market position. He will leave EOS to return to Adelaide and pursue opportunities closer to home.
“I would like to thank Ian for his leadership over the past two years in transforming our Australian Defence Systems business and establishing strong foundations for the future. Lee’s track record in both the Australian defence sector and international markets, combined with her deep technical expertise, makes her the ideal person to build on these achievements as we continue to expand our capabilities and support our customers in Australia and overseas," Chief Executive Officer at EOS, Andreas Schwer, said.
