EOS Defence Systems (EOS) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shielders Advanced Industries, a metal processing, profiling, and fabrication company based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

This partnership aims to combine the expertise of both parties to form a joint venture, focusing on enhancing the UAE’s defence capabilities and contributing to its economic growth.

EOS will bring its remote weapon system (RWS) design and production technology to the UAE, while Shielders Advanced Industries will provide its manufacturing facilities, fabrication, and processing expertise.

The joint venture will initially focus on manufacturing the lightweight R150 RWS, with an emphasis on using local capabilities and a UAE sovereign supply chain.

"We are excited to embark on this strategic partnership with Shielders Advanced Industries, which represents a significant step forward in our commitment to enhancing the defence capabilities of the United Arab Emirates," said Dr. Andreas Schwer, Chief Executive Officer of EOS.

"This joint venture not only strengthens our presence in the region but also aligns with our vision of delivering innovative and advanced defence solutions on a global scale. We look forward to leveraging our combined expertise to create a lasting impact on the UAE's defence industry and contribute to its economic growth."

The strategic agreement was formalised on 21 February at the Ajban Defence Industry and Technology Exhibition in the UAE.

EOS’ RWS are currently in use with militaries from Australia, North America, Europe, and South-East Asia, with over 2,500 systems sold globally.
