Greentide Target Solutions has announced its collaboration with the Australian Army during the upcoming Exercise Predator’s Run, by supplying a suite of training targets for evaluation.
“Our goal at Greentide is to help armed forces build capability without compromising the environment,” Director of Greentide Target Solutions, Shaun Fisk, stated.
During the Exercise, Greentide’s targets will be used in a variety of training environments and exposed to various field conditions. Soldiers will utlise them in complex combat team manoeuvres, weapons training, and live-fire scenarios.
According to the company, the targets float, making them adaptable for both maritime and amphibious exercises. They can be used in helicopter gunnery drills, littoral combat training, and naval gunfire support—providing a utility beyond land-based operations.
“The targets we supply combine robust functionality with eco-friendly materials, giving soldiers an effective way to train while contributing to a greener future," Fisk said.
Since Defence has placed increasing emphasis on sustainability and reducing the environmental impact of training activities, Greentide has created a range of targets allegedly constructed entirely from biodegradable and recyclable materials. The targets are purpose-built for live-fire training.
