Infinity Avionics and Nurjana Technologies have partnered to enhance Space Domain Awareness (SDA). Their partnership, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), will look into how space-based imaging and data analytics contribute to global space operations.

“Nurjana Technologies is actively developing next-generation payloads to support Italian and European SDA initiatives. In a new strategic collaboration, the company will work alongside Infinity Avionics, whose space proven solutions offer significant potential to enhance our SDA capabilities” CEO of Nurjana Technologies, Pietro Andronico, said. “We are pleased to launch this collaboration, combining our expertise to co-develop disruptive technologies for the evolving space environment.”

Space Domain Awareness —the ability to detect, track, and analyse objects in orbit—ensures the safety and sustainability of space activities. With the increasing number of active satellites and Resident Space Objects (RSOs) in Low Earth Orbit (LEO), advanced imaging and analytics are becoming important.

“Infinity Avionics has been providing highly customised imaging solutions to our global customer base for space situational awareness and non-earth imaging, utilising artificial intelligence. We are excited to provide our camera payload solutions to one of Europe’s leaders in electro-optical surveillance.” Infinity Avionics CEO, Igor Dimitrijevic, stated. “This will be the beginning of a wider technical collaboration between the two organisations to address emerging challenges and in response develop novel solutions.”

Nurjana Technologies possesses advanced situational awareness solutions, spanning defence, security, and surveillance industries. Their command and control systems provide precise tracking and identification of objects, while optical tracking technology supports long-range detection and video analysis. In the space sector, Nurjana Technologies plays a role in satellite collision avoidance, leveraging mission simulation, conjunction analysis, and high-precision orbital propagation to safeguard space assets.

Infinity Avionics has work in high-resolution space imaging, specialised for space asset monitoring and space domain awareness. The two organisations through the MoU will demonstrate Space Domain Awareness capabilities by leveraging Infinity Avionics’ Lynx4MP-70MM camera, deployed as part of the ExoTopic Give Me Some Space (GMSS) mission.
