The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has approved possible sales of AIM-120C-8 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM) missiles to Singapore and KC-46A tankers to Japan.

Singapore has been approved to buy up to 54 AIM-120C-8 missiles for US$133 million. The C-8 variant, which completed flight testing in September 2023, is the most advanced export variant of the AMRAAM. It was developed by Raytheon alongside the more advanced AIM-120D-3 as part of Form, Fit, Function (F3R) refresh program.

To date, the AIM-120D series of missiles have only been approved for export to Australia, Canada, Norway and the United Kingdom.

Japan, meanwhile, has received approval to buy up to nine KC-46A tankers for US$4.1 billion. The country has already received two KC-46As out of an earlier order for six. If the entire KC-46A order is actioned, then Japan will expand its strategic tanker fleet from four KC-767s to 15 KC-46As.

The country also operates two KC-130H tankers.
