KBR has achieved a key contractual milestone for its contract to act as the Capability Life Cycle Management (CLCM) for the Royal Australian Navy’s (RAN) fleet of Amphibious and Replenishment ships by meeting the Operative Date requirement.

The milestone comes just two months after the contract was signed. In that time, KBR has recruited and onboarded a team of 100 people based at Fleet Base East, while coordinating a progressive handover of the fleet care, as well as planning the management of fleet sustainment over the five-year contract period.

KBR's Capability Life Cycle Management (CLCM) sustainment contract includes multiple asset classes - the Landing Helicopter Dock Ships HMAS Adelaide and HMAS Canberra, Landing Ship Dock HMAS Choules and, from July 2025, the Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment Ships HMAS Supply and Stalwart

"A well-managed life cycle ensures that naval assets are not only cutting-edge at the time of induction but also maintain their relevance and effectiveness throughout their operational tenure," said KBR's Vice President Government Solutions APAC, Nic Maan.

"Our approach focuses on strong stewardship of the platform, fostering a high level of collaboration across the team led by KBR to help ensure the RAN remains at the forefront of Australian naval capability," he added.
