The OpportunItaly program has debuted in Australia at the 76th International Astronautical Congress (IAC).

“I would like to underline that in this occasion the Italian Pavilion is hosting some representatives of the official campaign “OpportunItaly”, a special tool within the Italian Export Plan launched last March by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani, with the aim to facilitate the interaction between Italian exporters and Australian buyers," The Italian Ambassador in Australia, Paolo Crudele, commented.

OpportunItaly is the business acceleration program promoted by Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), designed to connect foreign buyers, distributors and entrepreneurs with Italian companies and their know-how, through digital business matching services and content on the strategic sectors of Made in Italy.

The OpportunItaly program is rooted in 10 key sectors (Aerospace & Security, Agrifood, Automotive, Culture & Entertainment, Design, Fashion, Luxury & Lifestyle, Healthcare & Wellness, Machinery, Nautical, Sustainable Infrastructures & Energy), developed in over 150 industrial districts, projected into 20 foreign markets and fuelled by over 20,000 Italian companies.

Launched last May, the initiative has been centred around the platform opportunitaly.gov, where once subscribed, international buyers and Italian companies can access various business matching services, exclusive content and benefits to seize new opportunities in Made in Italy and international markets.

The OpportunItaly Buyers Club has offered international buyers opportunities such as the possibility to meet Italian companies during the most important international fairs supported by ITA local Trade Analysts and to request inclusion in the priority access list to visit Italian trade fairs with delegations organised by ITA.

Italy has a storied history in the space industry: in 1964, it launched its first satellite, ranking as the third country to do so after the USA and Russia, using national technology. In 1988, the Italian Space Agency (ASI) was founded.

Italy possesses a comprehensive aerospace value chain which encompasses design services, aircraft systems, engine production, component manufacturing, assembly, maintenance and support services.

The arrival in Australia of OpportunItaly will open up new opportunities for local businesses, offering Australian start-ups and companies the chance to establish partnerships with Italian enterprises and become part of a rapidly growing international aerospace supply chain.
