The South Australian Government has awarded Paladin Space a $100,000 grant to develop new image processing techniques to identify space junk and mature a design to capture it. It will also allow the company to build a prototype of the design.

"Our Seed-Start grant will help us explore new image processing techniques with support from the Australian Institute for Machine Learning, refine our novel capture design technology, and demonstrate our debris removal capability on a global stage," said Paladin Space Founder and CEO, Harrison Box.

"In addition to our Seed-Start grant, we’ve recently secured a $500,000 investment from Main Sequence Ventures, a leading space technology investor in Australia. With Main Sequence's expertise in deep tech and their strategic links to research institutions, Paladin Space will be able to accelerate the development and commercialisation of debris removal technology."
