The US State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale (FMS) to the Government of Singapore of Ebbing Air National Guard Base Facilities Construction Services and related equipment for an estimated cost of $353 million. The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has delivered the required certification notifying Congress.
Ebbing Air National Guard Base in Fort Smith, Arkansas is set to become the location for the Republic of Singapore Air Force's US-based F-35 training.
The Government of Singapore has requested to buy construction services at Ebbing Air National Guard Base and other related elements of logistics and program support that will be added to a previously implemented case whose value was under the congressional notification threshold.
The original FMS case, valued at US $27 million ($0 in MDE, approx. AU $41.3 million), has included US government and contractor engineering, technical, and logistics support services, and other related elements of logistics and program support. The estimated total cost is $353 million.
There are no principal contractors associated with this potential sale. Implementation of this proposed sale will not require the assignment of any additional US government or contractor representatives to Singapore.
