Sovereign Capability Group, formed through a recent merger of Insitec and Electrotech Australia, has appointed Diane Smith-Gander as its new Chair.

Smith-Gander also serves on the board of Whiteoak, the private equity fund that facilitated the merger which created Sovereign

"Doubling our surface fleet and increasing our naval assets is a challenge that requires a whole-of-nation response,” she said.

“Sovereign is poised to make a meaningful contribution to this effort, leveraging our assets, panel memberships and deep client relationships. Over the next 12 to 24 months, we have a real appetite to extend our reach through thoughtful acquisitions, increasing our relevance to both defence and commercial operators in Australia, New Zealand and the US," she added.
