Thomas Global Systems has been awarded a contract by Hanwha Defence Australia to deliver AS21 Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) Trainers (IFV-T).

The IFV-Ts will provide high-fidelity immersive simulation for the crew, comprising the commander, gunner, driver and integrated with the infantry team commander, in a single system capable of networking for collective manoeuver training.

IFV-Ts will be built between 2026 and 2027. They will be delivered to Hanwha Defence Australia in 2028.

“We are honoured to be selected by Hanwha Defence Australia to deliver this important simulation capability for AS21 Redback and the Australian Army,” said Thomas Global Systems' Vice President & General Manager, Simulation & Training Solutions, Michael Hall.

“The contract award recognises the world-class capability of our Simulation & Training business, and demonstrates that Australian industry has the capacity to deliver. This contract will enable Thomas Global Systems and our Australian supply chain partners to further develop our sovereign design and manufacturing capabilities as we deliver a world-class immersive training system for the Australian Army.”
