The Department of Defence will appear before the Public Works Committee for the inquiry into the proposed Defence Logistics Transformation Program (DLTP) to upgrade Defence bases and barracks in NSW, Queensland, Western Australia, Victoria, South Australia and Northern Territory.

The committee will conduct three public hearings on the multi-million dollar project in Ipswich, Darwin and Sydney.

The project will deliver new or refurbished purpose-built infrastructure that will enable Defence’s seven Joint Logistics Command units to provide enhanced support to Australian Defence Force elements and operations.

The cost of the works is approximately $752 million, excluding GST.

The proposed works will occur on the following eight sites:
Moorebank, Sydney, NSW
RAAF Base Amberley, Ipswich, Qld
Lavarack Barracks, Townsville, Qld
Robertson Barracks, Palmerston, NT
HMAS Stirling, Rockingham, WA
Palmer Barracks, Guildford, WA
RAAF Base Edinburgh, Edinburgh, SA
Wadsworth Barracks, East Bandiana, Vic.
