The Nacre QuietPro Auto-Adaptive Communications Hearing Protection system recently entered service with the Australian Army.

Nacre’s Australian partner Defcon Technologies provided more than 500 QuietPro systems and associated technical support to DMO to meet an Integrated Radio Headset (IRHS) requirement.

To achieve effective communications and situational awareness under high-noise battlefield conditions, the military required a lightweight communications headset that incorporated both Active Noise Reduction and Impulse Noise Protection.

It needed to be interoperable with in-service headgear and connectable to multiple communications platforms to allow operators to monitor and communicate in high noise environments without exposure to dangerously high levels.

The contract followed an extended and comprehensive trial and evaluation period.
