Raytheon Australia signed a significant subcontract in relation to Joint Project 2072 with Eylex Pty Ltd, an Australian defence communications and connectivity supplier representing a number of manufacturers.

The firm has established a reputation for supplying and repairing a number of product lines including antennas and masts, audio ancillaries, power solutions, RF amplifiers, data management systems and cable assemblies.

Raytheon Australia’s subcontract with Eylex for the purposes of JP2072 will involve Eylex supplying some 4,000 items of communication ancillaries in support of Raytheon’s EPLRS and MicroLight tactical data radios.

Specifically, Eylex will supply soldier worn, vehicle and portable mast antennas, batteries and a wide range of RF, data and power cabling, spares and comprehensive integrated logistics support data.

Managing director of Raytheon Australia, Michael Ward, commended Eylex on its efforts that had culminated in the signing of its contract with Raytheon Australia saying that he was delighted that Eylex had joined with Raytheon to deliver to the Defence Materiel Organisation under Phase 1 of JP2072.

“It is incredibly important for primes such as Raytheon Australia to demonstrate their support for capable Australian SMEs by providing them with real and fulfilling work to the benefit of our military customers,” Ward said.

“This contract is further evidence that the growth of Australia’s defence industry depends on a strong collaboration of companies both large and small who bring their individual strengths to contract performance.”
