The RTR8GE is a commercial off the shelf (COTS) battle-ready, rugged and security-focused network router, which features comprehensive field-tested Junos operating system for juniper Networks.
Its firewall, intrusion prevention and detection, and extensive quality of service capabilities enable secure IPv4/IPv6 connectivity for military vehicles, aircraft and forward operating based supporting net-centric operations as well as other applications such as industrial automation and Oil and Gas where harsh environments may be encountered.
The RTR8GE has eight Gigabit Ethernet ports integrated in a SWap-optimised enclosure that meets the demanding environmental requirements of military/aerospace applications.
The RTR8GE router supports radio-aware router protocols that monitor network efficiency, available bandwidth and regulate traffic flow, choosing the most efficient network route in mobile, ad-hoc battlefield network environments.
It also includes anti-tamper protection and information-assurance technologies in recognition of the sensitive nature of the data it is designed to transport.
With its integrated firewall and intrusion detection system, the RTR8GE ensures that the network is always up and securely running by denying malicious threats and unauthorized access or control, additional capabilities include denial of service (DoS) IPsec, VPN, user authentication and access control, network address translation, and quality of service (QoS).
The RTR8GE features MIL-D38999 Series 3 connectors for the Ethernet ports, Serial connection and power; and is delivered in a military rugged and SWap-optimized package that will operate in the harshest environments.
