In this episode, Grant McHerron and Ewen Levick talk with Alan Clements, managing director of L3Harris' Australian operations about integrated communications, autonomous vehicles and the new Peregrine platform.

We start the episode talking about the importance of integrated communications networks that support a multi-level Defence environment, L3Harris' work in that area and the opportunities being made available through their Brisbane support facility. This leads to a review of the top three challenges to achieving a networked force and the need to have collaboration designed in from the beginning.

The conversation moves on to the Iver Autonomous Underwater Vehicle, its capabilities, the opportunities L3Harris has identified for Iver in Australia and their involvement with academia on the development of autonomous vessels. We then shift to the RAAF's new MC-55A Peregrine ISREW aircraft, its general capabilities, how it will interact with other ADF platforms and the integration of information to provide usable battlefield knowledge.

Alan also talks about the transfer of knowledge and technology to Australia, balancing AIC against ITAR and the challenge associated with keeping Peregrine updated over the course of its life. We wrap the episode by looking at the future for L3Harris in Australia, including Alan's priorities over the years ahead.
