In this episode, Grant McHerron talks with Amanda Holt, CEO of SYPAQ about autonomous systems. SYPAQ is a veteran-owned business which has transformed from a professional services provider into a proven end-to-end systems integrator focused on autonomous systems.
We start off by learning about the journey of SYPAQ in the Defence industry over the last 5 years, as well as their current presence in Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, Fishermans Bend and Rockingham. We then gain an insight into some of their projects such as their cardboard based logistics delivery drone (PPDS) and their recent man-portable small unmanned aerial system (SAUS) named CorvoX that has been submitted for LAND 129 Phase 4B.
Amanda discusses the importance of sovereign capability, the rapid evolution of autonomous vehicle technology, different configurations for AI technology and operators, and the challenges of developing and implementing AI solutions. Finally, we get an update on the progress of SYPAQ’s recently opened Defence Autonomy Centre of Excellence in Fishermans Bend (DACE).
