Synergy Group’s Next Steps Veterans Career Discovery Day – Friday 20 May 2022.

Synergy Group are excited to announce that they have kicked off their Next Steps Veterans Career Discovery Campaign for 2022.

Synergy Group’s Next Steps started with a small design session back in April 2018 between a veteran, who was very new to consulting, and a bright change management consultant whose grandfather had been a POW during WWII. Synergy Group made a commitment to ‘recognise veterans and their potential in business’, and from a zero start-state in 2018 the number of veterans quickly grew to represent 10% of the current 500+ workforce, and they continue to play a vital role in the growing Synergy team. So, what is the Next Steps Veterans Career Discovery Day?

The Next Steps Veterans Career Discovery Day aims to provide transitioning veterans with an understanding of their potential through immersion and interaction. The Day is about the individual spending time discovering what’s possible, what’s out there, and the value they can bring to work out of uniform. Exploring how their skills and experience can transfer to the business world helps them consider real opportunities for a future career in the professional services industry.

This year’s Next Steps Discovery Day is the result of a complete review and refresh to meet the changing needs of the veteran and the market. Michael Mahy, Partner of the Defence Strategy, and Industry capability at Synergy Group said “We are proud of the development and evolution of this program. It’s a very palpable demonstration that Synergy cares about the person and provides very real opportunities for those ready to give consulting a go.”

The program offers the opportunity to explore through individual interviews and tasks, and team activities over one busy but rewarding day. The day-long program provides a great opportunity to showcase the breadth and depth of each veteran’s key attributes and suitability in a way that can’t be achieved in a traditional one-hour interview setting.

“At Synergy Group we feel strongly that it’s important to give back. Helping veterans and their families through transition is a great way of achieving this. We understand that stepping from uniformed service into a new career can be daunting, which is why we are committed to supporting veterans through our Next Steps Career Discovery Program," Michael Mahy said.

The Next Steps Veterans Career Discovery Day is on Friday 20 May 2022 at the Synergy office in Canberra. If you would like to find out more information or express your interest in the program, visit https://synergygroup.net.au/next-steps-veterans-career-discovery/
