Following our announcement of the Women in Defence Awards 2026 finalists, ADM will be introducing each of our amazing finalists across the categories in more detail. Today we are focusing on the finalists in our Technical Trade category.
In this category, judges were looking for entries that exhibited outstanding success in a Defence/defence industry trade in 2025. The finalists in this category all demonstrate a high level of prowess with their chosen trade, with additional evidence of having overcome personal or professional challenges to do so and for the impact their success had on the wider Defence and industry community.

Angela Argall Angela made significant contributions to unit outcomes in 2025 through a variety of technical, safety and support responsibilities with minimal supervision whilst operating in an unfamiliar and dynamic environment. Her sound judgement and analytical ability enabled her to develop solutions despite evolving requirements. Her commitment to public safety is exemplified by her extensive volunteer work with Surf Life Saving NSW. |

Prudence Harper Prudence was the technical backbone of Flight 802 aboard HMAS Ballarat. She led the Corrosion Control Team with exceptional foresight in what she termed, “Operation No Corrosion in my Aircraft”. Her meticulous application and maintenance of corrosion prevention compound strategically placed has been identified as industry standard and will be adopted across the entire MH-60R Fleet. She provided targeted support to junior women in Flight 802, helping them translate their shore-based skills into the high-stakes maritime environment. |

Tiffany Lewis In 2025, Tiffany demonstrated exceptional skill in diagnosing and repairing complex electronic training equipment. By bringing previously outsourced repairs inhouse, she has delivered significant cost savings while improving reliability and training continuity. She took on a key leadership position in mentoring trainees within the technical training environment. Tiffany also accepted responsibilities well above her formal position, stepping into the role of Course Implementation Officer during periods of absence. |
