Laser Safety Officer

Dr Trevor Wheatley presents an edVirtus professional education course, Laser Safety Officer, the aim of which is to provide an intermediate quantitative level of understanding of the principles of laser safety practice to meet the needs of Australian/International standards for a laser safety officer or a Defence Level 1 Laser Safety Officer (LSO1). The first day of the course is our Level 2 Laser Safety Supervisor course. Days 2 to 5 then build on this knowledge with a more detailed coverage of the key properties, including mathematical descriptions of lasers and laser beams. Then, through a series of presentations and worked examples followed by tutorial problems, this course provides a more comprehensive quantitative coverage of laser safety practice and the use of laser safety standards.
