Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) Courses - three options

edVirtus and Dr Chris Jackson present an exciting opportunity for those requiring a better understanding of reliability engineering. Offered as three virtual options, the comprehensive 40-hour Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) Course; the 16-hour RAM Introduction Course; and the 24-hour RAM Practitioners Course, provide participants with an understanding of the key tenets involved in making a ‘reliable system’. 40-Hour RAM—Comprehensive 29 November-10 December 2021 40 hours of virtual delivery on business days between 8.00am and 12.00pm AEDT. The comprehensive 40-hour Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) Course teaches participants the key tenets of making a ‘reliable system.’ This course is for those who are new to reliability engineering AND for those experienced engineers wanting to take their skills to the next level. Attendees who design, manufacture or otherwise work for a ‘producer organization’ will learn how to create a ‘reliability mindset’ to prevent problems before they occur. Problems are not limited to failures: reliability engineering at its most efficient and useful eliminates all manners of other problems such as issues identified in final production runs or basic design oversights that require expensive and time-consuming rework. The first part of the course focuses on organizational management and culture which is always the first step on the journey towards reliability maturity. The last part of the course focuses on ‘RAM practice’ that includes an overview of probability, statistics, test planning, key Design for Reliability (DfR) activities and several other related topics. Students will be taught to focus on the ‘vital few’ ways their product, system, service or process can fail. Which means we only need to worry about the ‘vital few’ things we need to do to quickly and cheaply increase reliability. 16-Hour RAM—Introduction 29 November-2 December 2021 16 hours of virtual delivery on business days between 8.00am and 12.00pm AEDT. The 16-hour RAM Introduction Course focuses on organizational management, leadership and philosophy which is the first step on the journey towards reliability maturity. Attendees who design, manufacture or otherwise work for a ‘producer organization’ will learn how to create a ‘reliability mindset’ to prevent problems before they occur. Most people think that reliability engineering only deals with ‘failures’ that occur in the hands of our users or customers. But reliability engineering is all about preventing problems. A problem identified by our customers or users is a failure. A problem we identify in our final production run before launch is an expensive and time-consuming crisis. A problem that we never allow to happen is the aim of the ‘reliability mindset.’ The reliability mindset requires everyone to know how reliability is linked to VALUE. Otherwise reliability is always positioned as an activity that competes with value. It has been shown that in some cases, organizations with reliability mindsets can reduce development and production costs by up to 75 % while reducing associated costs by 50 %. All before the product, system, service, device, machine or process is launched. The RAM Introduction Course teaches attendees how to position their project or program to utilize the considerable talent of the people working for them to optimize reliability in a way that continually generates value. 24-Hour RAM—Practitioners 3 December-10 December 2021 24 hours of virtual delivery on business days between 8.00am and 12.00pm AEDT. The 24-hour RAM Practitioners Course is all about planning and implementing the vital few reliability engineering activities that will ultimately create reliable systems, products, machines, services or processes. This includes an overview of probability, statistics, test planning, key Design for Reliability (DfR) activities and several other related topics. Most people think that reliability engineering
