ADM 2015 Congress

Around 250 delegates from Defence and industry attended the 2015 annual ADM Congress on February 10. Held in Canberra’s Hyatt Hotel, the Congress was the 12th in the series of Defence/Industry Conferences and chaired by AI Group’s John O’Callaghan. The new-look one-day event culminated in the ADM/DMO Awards for Excellence, including the presentation of the coveted Essington Lewis Trophies.

Held in conjunction with the NT Government, the second ADM Northern Australia Defence Summit was held in the Darwin Convention Centre on October 15th & 16th.

The imperative in future warfare to dominate and fully exploit the electromagnetic (EM) spectrum and the challenges faced by the ADF in achieving this were recurring themes at what was billed as Australia’s only combined EW/IO/EMS/Cyber Operations convention.

As Australia continues the discussion on how to develop the continent’s vast northern region, political and business leaders are asking what role the Defence Force can play in the overall strategy.

The fourth ADM Cyber Security Summit was notable for a continuing lack of a cohesive resourceful Government approach to major threats.

The Australian Chapter of the Association of Old Crows (AOC) will host its 2014 biennial AOC Australasia Convention in Adelaide at the Hotel Grand Chancellor Adelaide on 18-19 August.

ADM2014 Defence/Industry Congress

Held on February 25 and 26, the event was the 11th in the series and attendees heard from a wide range of individual speakers and panelists, from Defence Minister Senator David Johnston and Assistant Minister for Defence Stuart Robert, DMO chief Warren King, DSTO Chief Defence Scientist Dr Alex Zelinsky, through to representatives from the major industry primes and Small to Medium Enterprises (SME).
